Xiaomi fitness trackers have pretty much influenced the wearable device market. Affordable smart bands Mi Band immediately gained popularity, thereby allowing you to attract many new users to this niche. This year, the fifth generation of the Mi Band is already presented, which received improved characteristics, but at the same time retained a very pleasant price tag.
Mi Band 5 was equipped with a 1.1 ″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 294×126 pixels (in Mi Band 4, the diagonal of the screen was 0.95 ″). The device has more than a hundred different dials, including those styled as heroes of various animated series (SpongeBob, Evangelion, Detective Conan and others).
Fitness bracelet offers users 11 sports modes, including running, swimming, yoga and others. The device can automatically detect running and walking, warns if the heart rate exceeds the norm. In addition to the heart rate sensor, the gadget is also equipped with a SpO2 sensor (measures the amount of oxygen in the blood) and a barometer (measures atmospheric pressure). Mi Band 5 is also able to monitor the quality of sleep and help monitor the health of women.
Other features of the device include the ability to remotely control the smartphone’s camera, moisture protection (5 ATM), and support for Xiao Ai voice assistant (in the NFC version). The battery capacity is 125 mAh, this should be enough for about two weeks of work. But for the first time, charging the Mi Band does not require removing the device from the strap – just connect the magnetic charge to the back of the bracelet.
As for the support of contactless payments, the version with the NFC module is available. However, so far there is no information on whether work with payment systems outside of China will be supported. Most likely, you should wait for the announcement of the global NFC version of Mi Band 5, as it recently happened with Mi Band 4.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will be offered with various color straps. The regular version is priced at $ 27, the NFC version at $ 32. The start of sales is scheduled for June 18.
