The novelty received a larger display and LTE support.
The first generation of Surface Go could have every chance of success at a price of $ 399, but the lack of performance of the device significantly limited its capabilities. Microsoft has worked on bugs and presented Surface Go 2.
The tablet retained its dimensions, but at the same time received a larger display with a diagonal of 10.5 ″ (PixelSense, 1920 × 1080 pixels, aspect ratio 3: 2). As a hardware platform, you can choose the Pentium Gold 4425Y processor or the more efficient 8th generation Core m3. RAM can be installed 4 GB or 8 GB. Built-in storage in the basic versions – eMMC 64 GB, in the more expensive – SSD 128 GB.
Given that the dimensions of the Surface Go 2 have not changed, this means that the tablet is compatible with Type Cover keyboards from the first generation. However, in any case, you will have to buy the accessory yourself ($ 99 for the regular version or $ 129 for the version with Alcantara coating).
From the connection interfaces are available USB-C, Surface Connect, microSD-reader, 3.5 mm audio jack. The tablet is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 8 MP main camera and 5 MP front-end modules. An optional LTE module is available. The declared battery life is 10 hours.
Microsoft Surface Go 2 can be purchased for as low as $ 399 (Pentium, 4 GB, 64 GB, Wi-Fi). The version with Core m3 will cost at least $ 629 (Wi-Fi). The top-end configuration costs $ 729 (Core m3, 8 GB, 128 GB, LTE).
