Xiaomi last week introduced the global version of the Redmi Note 9 smartphone that MediaTek G85 equipped. But the official announcement of the chipset took place only today.
The Helio G85 includes two Cortex-A75 cores operating at a frequency of 2.0 GHz and six more energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores operating at a frequency of 1.8 GHz. The graphics processor is responsible for the Mali-G52 accelerator. Its frequency was slightly increased (up to 1 GHz), compared with the same accelerator in Helio G80 (950 MHz).
The chipset is capable of working with one camera module with a resolution of 48 MP or with a pair of sensors 16 MP + 16 MP. Also declared is support for displays with a maximum resolution of Full HD + and a refresh rate of 60 Hz, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS modules. The built-in modem supports fourth-generation networks. MediaTek also notes that the Helio G85 is equipped with technologies such as VoW (Voice Wakeup – various optimizations for the best work of voice assistants) and HyperEngine Game Technology (a number of improvements that affect the behavior of the smartphone during games).
MediaTek has already started shipping Helio G85 to various manufacturers, so in the near future we are waiting for new smartphones in the price range of about $ 200, which will receive this chipset.
