A compact electric car in Europe will receive not only a new name, but also a higher price tag compared to the Chinese version.
Let me remind you that the electric crossover Renault City K-ZE was introduced in early September this year for the Chinese market. It was valued at only $ 9000, however, it offers very modest characteristics (range of about 250 km on the NEDC cycle, top speed 105 km / h). A little later, information appeared that Renault plans to release a version for the European market.
According to German media, an electric car under the Dacia brand and with a different model name will go on sale in 2021. He will offer 250 km of power reserve for the WLTP cycle and will cost about 15,000 euros. This is more expensive than the option for the Chinese market, but, for example, in Germany a car will cost about 10,000 euros, given the bonus from the state. In addition, the European version of the Renault K-ZE will receive an advanced security system and a charger with a CCS connector.
The decision to use the Dacia brand is dictated by the strict requirements for harmful CO2 emissions, which will come into force in 2020. Now cars of this brand are far from the record for the lowest CO2 emissions, so the release of an electric car can potentially reduce the overall level of pollution along with the use of more efficient internal combustion engines in gasoline and diesel models.
