Sony released the SRS-WS1 shoulder column

Sony SRS-WS1 will help you fully immerse yourself in what is happening on the screen while watching movies without distracting others.

The device is not a novelty as such, the column was introduced a little earlier and you can even find its reviews on the network (though mostly in Japanese).

With Sony SRS-WS1, you can completely concentrate on watching a movie or a video game, without particularly distracting those who are in the same room with you. In addition, unlike ordinary headphones, you can always hear ambient sounds (for example, if someone calls you, or the phone rings).

Included with the device is a charging station with a microUSB port (fully charging takes about 3 hours) and a special transmitter that connects to the TV via an optical input or a 3.5 mm audio jack. This dongle can transmit audio to one or two SRS-WS1. There is no Bluetooth module in the device. However, you can connect to your smartphone using a microUSB cable – 3.5 mm (also included). It is strange that Sony did not equip the gadget with a USB-C connector.

As for the sound characteristics of the SRS-WS1, the device is equipped with 1.18 ″ speakers, as well as passive vibration plates that amplify low tones, creating vibrations along with low frequencies. The built-in battery capacity is 1000 mAh, this should be enough for about 7 hours of operation. The device weighs 335 grams.

The cost of the Sony SRS-WS1 is $ 299.99. The device went on sale in the United States, whether it will be offered in other markets is not yet known.
