Ford and Webasto engineered the 900-horsepower electric muscle car Mustang Lithium
Electric cars, due to the specifics of their power plants, can be very fast vehicles. Take the same Tesla Model S, which is now striving to break various speed records. Nevertheless, they have one nuance that sports car enthusiasts often pay attention to – the lack of a manual gearbox (in fact, there is no need for a gearbox in electric cars). But Ford decided to fix this point and, together with Webasto, introduced the Mustang Lithium concept.
The electric muscle car is equipped with a 900-horsepower engine with a torque of 1350 N * m and a six-speed Getrag gearbox adapted for drag flight. The Mustang Lithium is also equipped with an 800-volt battery system that provides such tremendous power. The driver can choose different driving modes on the 10.4 ″ screen of the multimedia system.
Ford does not disclose the detailed characteristics of the Mustang Lithium, but at the same time clarifies that this electric car is designed as a test sample for testing various developments of the company. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will be able to purchase such a car in the near future.
However, on November 17, Ford will hold a presentation of the electric crossover, made in the spirit of Mustang. I doubt that he will offer such power or a manual gearbox, but we will see a ready-made serial electric car from Ford.
