Official support for first-generation Pixel smartphones is coming to an end.
Google recently launched a November security patch for Pixel smartphones, but the first generation of smartphones has not received an update. Actually, everything is pretty logical, because Google guarantees two years of system updates and three years of release of security patches, and the first Pixel were introduced in 2016.
However, a little later, Google announced that despite the fact that the Pixel and Pixel XL did not receive the November update, they are waiting for “one final update” in December, which will contain various chips and corrections for the entire period. After this, official updates to devices can not be expected.
By the way, the fact of updating the first Pixel to Android 10 was a pleasant surprise for their owners, because it was the third major update for their devices. So now it remains to wait for the last security patch.
