A useful feature for those who have several smart speakers or smart displays from Google and / or Chromecast devices at home.
Earlier, users of Google Home smart speakers and other Chromecast devices had the opportunity to combine them into groups to simultaneously play music on all devices. Now, the new Stream Transfer feature allows you to “transfer” playback from one device to another.
Stream Transfer works simply: just start playing music on one Google Cast device, and then ask Google Assistant to continue playing on another device (or group of devices) in your home – Okay Google, move the music to the (device or room name).
You can do the same with video playback. For example, if you watch YouTube on a smart display, just say “Hey Google, play it on living room TV” to continue watching on TV in your living room.
You can also control the playback of your Google Cast devices in the Google Home app.
