Google has decided to accelerate the spread of smartphones with Android 10.
Starting January 31, 2020, all new Android smartphones must have firmware based on Android 10. Otherwise, Google will not renew the Google Mobile Services license for companies (and the situation will be the same as with the Huawei Mate 30 – the device is running Android, but without Google services). True, there is a small nuance – if a device with firmware based on Android 9 Pie is approved before January 31, 2020, then it can go on sale later than this date.
Thus, Google wants to motivate manufacturers to quickly develop new firmware. After all, for example, Android 10 was officially announced a month ago, and companies still produce smartphones running Android 9 Pie.
Do you think Google will succeed in influencing manufacturers? And in general, will the situation with the oddity of Android ever be solved?
