True, this applies only to new models with a preinstalled multimedia system SYNC 4.

Ford has officially announced that its 2020 model year cars equipped with SYNC 4 will be able to use the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity features.

In addition, SYNC 4 brings support for displays of various sizes. According to Ford, the platform now works with both small 8 ″ screens and 15 ″ displays. Judging by the screenshots below, the system interface will be vertically oriented.

Adaptive Dash Cards will be available on the screen – these are widgets that allow you to quickly access certain functions of the system. For example, switch the track without going to the music player.

If the owner of the new Ford issues an optional FordPass Connect subscription, his car with the SYNC 4 system will be able to connect to the cloud. This will allow the driver to use voice commands, as well as send SMS and email.

Another innovation in Ford 2020 cars is the ability to receive updates over the air (OTA). True, the company has not yet specified which models will support this functionality.
