Google’s new flagship expectedly received a high score for photography and unexpectedly the highest score for video.
If we compare Pixel 4 and Pixel 3, the new product immediately received 14 points more in the photography test than its predecessor: 117 points against 103. DxOMark experts noted bright and pleasant colors in normal lighting, fast and accurate autofocus, good color reproduction and automatic exposure flash mode, good detail with small to medium zoom. Among the negative aspects, they indicated some loss of detail and visible noise in different shooting modes, random artifacts during shooting in portrait mode, and sometimes moire pattern in photographs taken under bright lighting.
As for video shooting, the Pixel 4 scored 101 points – the same leader in this rating is Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. But there is an important clarification – while competitors were shooting in 4K (2160p) resolution, Pixel 4 was shooting in Full HD. Thus, the smartphone from Google could offer slightly less detail in low light conditions, but otherwise the camera showed itself at a high level. Good autofocus, stabilization and subject tracking systems are noted.
In the end, Pixel 4 scored 112 points and took a place in the top 10 in the ranking of the best cameras of mobile devices according to DxOMark.
