The novelty offers high sound quality and excellent autonomy.
The WI-1000XM2 headphones are an update to the original WI-1000X, released a couple of years ago. The rim design is now more flexible, which should positively affect the comfort of use of the device. The shape of the headphones themselves has also changed, which are more reminiscent of the recently introduced WF-1000XM3.
The WI-1000XM2 uses a hybrid speaker system: they consist of 9 mm dynamic drivers and reinforcing drivers. This, according to the company, will provide users with a wide range of frequencies – from deep bass to soft high tones. QN1's built-in noise-canceling HD processor is equipped with 32-bit audio processing, digital-to-analog conversion and headphone amplification. The active noise reduction system can neutralize extraneous noise even in the cabin, thereby improving the clarity of sound.
The company notes that the battery life of the WI-1000XM2 is about 10 hours with noise reduction turned on. Without noise reduction, the indicator should increase by another couple of hours. Fast charging is supported – 10 minutes from the power source is enough for 80 minutes of listening to music.
In addition, the headphones allow you to make and receive calls using voice commands (there is support for Google Assistant). And on the back of the headphones there are now magnetic earbuds so that the wires do not get tangled. In the Sony Connect proprietary application, you can customize the sound and operation of sound enhancement systems.
I also note that the WI-1000XM2 are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC modules. Headphones support the formats LDAC, SBC, AAC. Charging is via the USB-C port.
Sony WI-1000XM2 will go on sale in January 2020. The cost of headphones in Ukraine will be announced later. The price tag on the global market will be $ 370.
