Ford has announced the release of an electric version of its most popular pickup truck.

Ford is currently more focused on the development and production of hybrid vehicles. In particular, previously it was planned to produce only a hybrid version of the F150 pickup. However, earlier this year Ford confirmed the development of the all-electric version of the F150. In the summer, an early prototype electric pickup was even demonstrated.

Now it has become known that the electric F150 will be released “in the coming years”. And to be more specific – Ford plans to start delivering a pickup truck to the market until 2022.

“First we will release our most iconic cars (F150), but we have others. And we will continue to work on them, ”said Darren Palmer, head of Ford Team Edison. Rumors immediately surfaced that Ford might eventually release electric versions of the Ranger or Bronco, but Palmer did not comment on this information.

By the way, next year the release of a pickup by Tesla is expected. Model Y “will be better than the F150” according to the assurances of Ilon Mask, and its cost will be less than $ 50,000.
