ASUS today officially introduced in Ukraine its new laptop with two displays – ZenBook Pro Duo.
ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581) was presented at the May Computex 2019 conference. ASUS is positioning it as a demonstration of how laptops will look in the future.
Nevertheless, the novelty is already quite possible to use, and it is suitable for everyday use, as well as for professional tasks and gaming. The laptop is equipped with a basic 15.6 ″ OLED display with a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 × 2160 pixels), HDR support and 100% DCI-P3 space coverage. As in other top-end ASUS devices, a high-quality matrix is used here, which is well suited for working with graphics.
Well, an additional tool for work is ScreenPad Plus – the second display located above the keyboard. It is touch-sensitive, has a diagonal of 14 ″ and a resolution of 4K (3840 × 1100 pixels). You can easily transfer additional windows to it, open special programs developed for ScreenPad, or simply stretch the application window onto two screens. The latter option can be convenient when working in various editors. For example, in Adobe Premiere on ScreenPad Plus you can work with the timeline, and the main display will display windows with files and videos. In audio editors, an equalizer can be displayed on an additional screen, and in Photoshop – a color palette and other auxiliary tools.
In general, the ability to have on hand an additional screen in a laptop is quite convenient. I am now using the new VivoBook model with ScreenPad 2.0 (a review will soon appear on the site) and despite the fact that its diagonal is only 5.65 ″, it is convenient to display a messenger and an audio player on it. With a large display it should be much more interesting, but all of its usefulness can be judged after a detailed acquaintance.
It is interesting to test how convenient it is to work with the keyboard, because it is shifted to the bottom. A special stand is provided for the hands. The touchpad also moved – it is located to the right of the keyboard. The touchpad can work in NumberPad mode. Included with the laptop is also a pen for drawing and handwriting.
As for the other features of the ZenBook Pro Duo, everything here is at the highest level. Options are available with Intel Core i7-9750H and Core i9-9880HK processors, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card, 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM and PCIe SSDs with a capacity of up to 1 TB. The laptop uses Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 modules, there is an infrared camera for working with face recognition, ASUS SonicMaster speakers with Harman Kardon certification. Thunderbolt 3, two USB-A 3.1 Gen 2, HDMI 2.0 and a combined audio jack are available from the connection interfaces. The battery capacity is 71 Wh.
And now regarding Ukrainian prices. ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo has already gone on sale at a price of 78,999 UAH. For the money you get an option with Core i7, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. The version with Core i7, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD will cost 80,499 UAH. And for the top-end modification with Core i9, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD will be asked for 97,999 UAH.
