ASUS raises the bar for gaming laptops.
ASUS brought several gaming laptops to the IFA 2019 exhibition that can be equipped with displays with a refresh rate of 300 Hz. Such panels will receive devices of the Strix and Zephyrus series.
Increasing the refresh rate of the screen to 300 Hz makes the gameplay as smooth as possible. A higher fixed refresh rate improves gameplay while lowering the frame rate in the game. In this case, the image refresh cycle is shortened and the display delay is reduced. At a frequency of 300 Hz, the response time is about 3 ms (to be more precise, a new frame is displayed every 3.3 ms).
The first laptop with a new ultra-fast panel will be the ROG Zephyrus S GX701 – the device is scheduled for release in October this year. In addition, 300 Hz screens will be equipped with Zephyrus S GX502 and Strix SCAR III. These models are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070/2080 video cards and provide top-end performance for gamers.
